Known issues

• Labels:
  • Not working yet in Preview/Program Canvases
  • The border around labels in the CS editor is not correctly scaled when Pixel mode is off (they appear very small)
  • Sometimes deleting and undoing a label will result in the label becoming a window.
  • Label windows appear in the canvas audio follow windows and dashboard with a source of s0i0.
• Source Crop
  • Sometimes while in SC editor with the window selected and undo or redoing the SC values might be very large
    • To work-around try undoing again.
• Output Mapper/InputMapper:
  • In the manage output maps dialog the maps text may overlap as it doesn’t yet adjust based on the available size.
• Others:
  • The installer is not optimised, so the installed directory has a lot of additional files that may or may not be required. This will be cleaned up later.
  • Encoder Manager dialog uses tabs and the tab default behaviour changes the selected tab highlight when the mouse of over child items.
  • Application Window title bar is not themed.

Hardware Replacement and Software assurance (HR/SA):

Hardware Replacement and Software Assurance are two elements of a program introduced by Green Hippo for Hippotizer V4, V4+ and V4+ MK2 Media Servers to support customers and users accessing the latest Hardware and the Software available cost effectively.

Please use the link below to fill out the Hardware Replacement request form to expedite this process..

Hardware Replacement request form

PW= GHHRRequest

Hardware Replacement (HR) is a trade-in for new hardware; a customer returns a V4 or V4+ system for a new V4+ MK2 system. In order for a Hardware Replacement to occur your system’s software license and Software Assurance must be transferred from the old hardware to the new.

Software Assurance (SA) determines which software versions will run on specific hardware. Once installed, Hippotizer software will run for the life of the hardware. Software Assurance may be extended through extension licenses. These are per Feature Version, each enabling an additional new software Version (4.6 from 4.5 for example). Improvement releases are included with the parent Feature Release. (4.6.1 is included with 4.6.0).

How does Hardware Replacement (HR) work:

The local distributor, dealer, or Green Hippo can provide a quotation for HR. As part of the quotation, Green Hippo will direct you to an online form asking details about the system(s) to be Hardware Replaced.

Once the order is complete we will schedule a time to carry out the license transfer.

In most cases we can carry out the replacement onsite remotely; we will need online access to both systems as part of the license transfer process. If online access is not possible or if the old system does not work then it will be required to return the system to a Green Hippo facility for the license transfer to occur. After Hardware Replacement is complete the old system must be returned to Green Hippo in the UK or US.

It is imperative to back up all settings and content before the Hardware Replacement occurs.

Additional Software Assurance can be added at the time of Hardware Replacement if required.

PLEASE NOTE: The minimum Hippotizer version supported by V4+ MK2 hardware is 4.6.3, if your Software Assurance does not allow 4.6.3 to install, an SA extension will be required to Hardware Replace to V4+ MK2.

If you have any questions about this process please do not hesitate to contact us by clicking here.

How does Software Assurance (SA) work

The local distributor, dealer, or Green Hippo can provide a quotation for SA. As part of the quotation, Green Hippo will direct you to an online form asking details about the system(s) requiring Software Assurance.

Please use the link below to fill out the Software Assurance request form to expedite this process.

Software Assurance request form

PW= GHSArequest

Once the order is complete, for V4+ and V4+ MK2 systems the Software Assurance extension is delivered as a URL on the invoice. An internet connection is required on your Hippotizer system to apply the SA extension.

If your system is a Hippotizer V4, extending Software Assurance may require the installation of a hardware dongle. Green Hippo will provide the dongle and a remote session to assist with fitting it with your SA order free of charge.

Software Assurance extensions are listed by Feature Version. Adding one feature version will allow the next release to install. For example, if your current SA allows 4.5 to install, adding a single Feature Version will allow 4.6.

If you have any questions about this process please do not hesitate to contact us at support@geen-hippo.com

I have a watermarked output, How can I remove the watermark?

A watermarked output is shown when either a PLAY or PREP license is being used, or the Hippotizer license you have is not valid on the current installed version of Hippotizer. If you are using Hippotizer hardware you may need to extend your Software Assurance.

When I start Hippotizer it says 'Software Assurance out of range', Why?

This warning is to notify the user that the license is no longer valid for any releases created after the current date. This will not impact the current installed version of Hippotizer. Read more about your license here.

Where can I find the Hippotizer user manual?

The user manual is found at support.green-hippo.com/manual

How can I create a support ticket?

You can complete the 'Submit a request' form at https://support.green-hippo.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new

What do the different Hippo colours mean?

Green: Hippotizer is running normally

Blue: Media Manager is encoding or syncing media

Yellow: Output manager is configuring, or the media drive has less than 10% capacity free

Red: Hippotizer has an error

Purple: The Hippotizer software is not running.

The Hippotizer software keeps crashing how can I fix this?

Contact the support team immediately and provide them with the debug files packed via the HippoLauncher export debug files feature, found at the bottom of the 'Advanced' tab of HippoLauncher.

You can download the latest version of Hippotizer from our Downloads section

Can I install my own copy of Windows on a Hippotizer server?

You can not install any other version of Windows on a Hippotizer server. Doing so is against our licensing agreement and will result in the server requiring an RMA.

Can I put different/my own hardware into my Hippotizer?

We can not support any servers with 3rd party hardware.

Can I increase my media storage?

Media storage size is fixed and varies between the different products in the Hippotizer range. Both the 2RU and 4RU products include 2.5" SSD bay slots in the front of the server.

I can't see my host in ZooKeeper?

Both the Engine Host Manager and ZooKeeper network settings need to be configured to listen to a network adapter within the same network. Read this article to learn how to check network settings.

How can I specify the network adapter for the input DMX data for the DMX2 component?

Select options in the DMX2 UI and you are able to specify a connected network adapter for receiving data.
